To Supporters of The Sponsors,

We are proud to celebrate the success of The Sponsors Scholarship Program for the past 21 years. As one of George Langstaff's many "volunteers", you have faithfully supported his vision of providing financially disadvantaged young people the opportunity to pursue their post-high school academic dreams.

Beginning in 1995 with only a small group of friends, the value of his vision to our community was quickly recognized with volunteers providing financial support, seminars, mentors, and scholarship committee interviewers.

With this year's new student class, 433 financially disadvantaged young people have now been provided the financial assistance to pursue their academic dreams. Quite an accomplishment--from George's vision while mowing hay on his farm 21 years ago to reviewing this year's student's bios.

While our volunteer structure has proven successful, we know a permanent, well-established organization is needed to manage our Program into the future. To accomplish this, The Sponsors Scholarship Fund (Fund) has been created at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) to insure that George's vision will continue into the future.

For more information about The Sponsors Scholarship Fund, you can visit the CFMT at:

The Sponsors Scholarship Fund will begin awarding scholarships in 2017 through The Community Foundation based on essentially the same criteria used by The Sponsors Scholarship Program. The Sponsors Scholarship Program has ceased independent operations as of December 31, 2016.

We hope you will continue supporting the students receiving scholarships from The Sponsors Scholarship Fund as you have done through the years to our Program.

Sincerely,
Garry Sharp
